Julia Spendel

Julia Spendel is a piano teacher and director of Playtime Music Studio. She is also the founder of Playtime Music Foundations, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing music scholarships for students in need.

Born and raised in Germany, Julia began her musical journey at age four and quickly developed a deep passion for the piano. Throughout her childhood she competed in respected competitions, performed in concerts, and earned recognition for her musicality and dedication.

One of her greatest influences was her childhood teacher, Amy, a young but remarkably gifted pianist whose wisdom, skill, and encouragement far exceeded her age. Though young, Amy taught with a rare blend of passion, gentleness, and excellence that left a lifelong impact. Julia later studied with many accomplished and highly trained instructors, yet none matched the heartfelt encouragement and inspiration Amy provided.

This experience ultimately shaped Julia’s own teaching philosophy. As a freshman in high school, she began teaching young students with the same warmth, support, and musical depth that Amy modeled. Now, years later, Julia has built a growing studio and counts it a privilege to teach a wide variety of wonderful students.

Over time, she has developed a curriculum specifically designed for young learners. This unique and engaging approach has produced remarkable progress and confidence in many of her students.
